Certified 1857 - withdrew in 1861.  Mrs Way did not apply for certification in 1861

Established in 1857 by the Hon. Mrs Way, for poor orphan girls between the ages of 11 and 16 years, who are taught all kinds of household work so as to fit them for domestic servants and are also provided with a home when out of a situation; the school has a resident matron and schoolmistress; and there is also an Infants' Home, established in the year 1872 by Miss Way for 14 infants, with a residence for the matron.  In 1882 the schools were amalgamated and are now under the control of a committee of 11 ladies.
